heimtextil 2017: hall 6.0, stand B16 - Working together with the young designer of AMWA Designs, Sihl will present their interior design collection for interior decoration. Under the double entendre “bring new meaning to your personal living” – using designs from AMWA Designs in combination with Sihl Interior Design products to personalize, renovate and bring new meaning to your personal space. After graduating Chrissa Amuah founded AMWA Designs in 2014, a successful company creating handmade textiles and print designs for home decoration. Her work is built on the principle that our homes and private spaces should be filled with beautiful furnishings that evoke powerful and positive thoughts. Using this principle idea her designs take their inspiration from the Adinkra symbols and proverbs of Ghana. The Adinkra symbols not only provide a decorative function but they also represent traditional concepts and aphorisms. Traditionally used extensively on fabrics and pottery, they are also commonly found incorporated in walls and architectural buildings. Each symbol has its own proverbial meaning, meaning that each of the designs produced by AMWA Designs has its own message behind it. For the cooperation with Sihl, Chrissa used the symbol Adinkrahene known as the “Chief of the Adinkra symbols”, it represents greatness, charisma and leadership. Originally using screen printing to print textiles, the cooperation with Sihl has offered Chrissa the chance to expand into digital printing, both inkjet and dye sublimation printing were used to produce her printed designs: giving her the opportunity to produce more exclusive products for her collection. For the heimtextil Sihl stand AMWA Designs provided 3 designs which were in turn printed using both inkjet and dye sublimation technology on wallpapers, fabrics, windows films, wall stickers, photo paper and canvas to recreate a room atmosphere. The product highlight is the new Glass Textile design2wall HealthClean 295 matt 2525, which was developed especially to meet high clinical requirements.
